The latest regular session meeting of the Caney City Council included a report from Jarred, Gilmore, and Phillips concerning the 2023 city audit.

 The city was given an unmodified opinion for 2023. City Administrator Kelley Zellner says he is happy with what was presented.

 Zellner says funds are more easily tracked now than in previous years of the city's budgets. He says the goal is to show all residents where the funds are coming from and going, with the least amount of movement possible.

 In other business, the council awarded the mowing contract of Sunnyside Cemetery to MTB Lawn and Garden for just over $26,500.
