KJCCC Awards Released, Summers Named Freshman of Year

 

The season awards in the the Jayhawk Conference have been announced, and the Red Ravens receive numerous honors.

 

Freshman Jahni Summers has been named Freshman of the Year, following finishing sixth in the league in scoring. He was also named All-KJCCC second team. Sophomore forward Cris Carroll was named to the first team.

 

On the women's side, Ivy Fox, Kyleigh Ortiz, and Bailey Layman were each named All-KJCCC second team, following leading the Ravens to a Top-5 finish in the conference.

 

Kiki Smith of Hutchinson was named Women's Player of the Year, with John Ontjes earning Coach of the Year.  Jeff Nwankwo of Cowley is the Men's Player of the Year, with Jeremy Coombs of Barton the Coach of the Year.
