The Chautauqua County commission is looking for options to expand involvement with an economic development program.
The South Central Kansas Economic Development District has been working with communities in south-central Kansas since 1972 to advance economic growth. The program promotes regional strategies and partnerships, such as innovative community projects, and new commercial opportunities.
County Commissioner Rodney Shaw says a county representative for the program could help many people.
Chautauqua County is also still assessing damage to roads and bridges from recent severe weather. Commissioner David Deal says they should evaluate gravel on county roads.
The commission also had an executive session regarding non-elected personnel.
